Sebastien Jean Jacques was a French sculptor and woodcarver who lived within the 18th century. He’s greatest recognized for his work on the interiors of the Palace of Versailles, together with the Corridor of Mirrors and the Royal Chapel. Jacques’s work is characterised by its class, refinement, and a focus to element. He was a grasp of the Rococo type, and his work helped to outline the look of 18th-century French artwork.
Jacques was born in Paris in 1713. He studied sculpture together with his father, Jean-Baptiste Jacques, and later with the sculptor Edme Bouchardon. In 1734, Jacques gained the Prix de Rome, which allowed him to review in Italy for 3 years. Whereas in Italy, Jacques studied the works of the good Italian masters, resembling Michelangelo and Bernini.
